We are excited to partner with Feminist Film Club for this special screening of powerful British drama Blue Jean followed by a post film discussion.

Georgia Oakley’s debut film is set in 1988 and follows Jean, a PE teacher forced to keep her sexuality hidden in an increasingly hostile political climate. As she carefully navigates the divide between her professional life and her relationship with her girlfriend, the arrival of a new student threatens the fragile balance she has worked so hard to maintain.

Following the film, audiences are invited to stay for a post-screening discussion with Blythe. Together, we will explore the themes and questions raised by the film – from identity, visibility and belonging to the impact of prejudice and political change – creating a safe space for shared reflection and conversation.

They showcase a diverse range of international cinema from documentary to arthouse, reflecting the richness and complexity of women’s experiences and perspectives from around the world.
