About the business
The Swan’s Nest Hotel combines the rustic charm of a country manor with an unbeatable riverside location in Stratford. Our beautiful red-brick hotel dates back to the late 17th century and has long been a part of Stratford’s story – inside you’ll find classic decor, from wooden beams to elegant fireplaces, creating an atmosphere of warmth and tradition. Many of our rooms overlook the River Avon and the tranquil Swan’s Nest garden, where you can often see swans and ducks gathering (the hotel’s name isn’t a coincidence!). We’re situated directly across the river from the Royal Shakespeare Company theatres – a pedestrian bridge connects you in just a few minutes’ walk, making it perfect for theatre-goers who want a scenic stroll home under the stars. We pride ourselves on our two dining options on site: there’s Le Bistrot Pierre, serving French bistro classics with views of the river, and The Bear, our cozy pub, which is popular with locals for its real ales and hearty fare. As part of the local community, we often host pre-theatre dinners and welcome everyone from traveling families to business visitors with the same personal touch. Our staff, many of whom have been with us for years, love to share tales of the hotel’s past (ask about the time a famous actor stayed during a Shakespeare festival!) and ensure you feel part of the family. At Swan’s Nest, you’ll enjoy the peaceful charm of the English countryside while being just steps away from Stratford’s vibrant cultural scene.
