Getting to Stratford-upon-Avon

The town offers several car parks, including Park and Ride options for stress-free access to the centre. For those with accessibility needs, designated disabled parking spaces are available in key locations.

Electric vehicle users can find charging points at select car parks, making it simple to recharge while you explore. Whether you’re here for a day trip or a longer stay, parking is easy and widely available.

With lots of different operators and pricing structures, the majority of on street and off street use Ringo app.

Warwickshire County Council is responsible for on-street parking services across our Town and the wider Warwickshire.

Regular trains run between Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway station, situated at the far end of the Park and Ride car park, and Stratford-upon-Avon station which is a 10 minute walk from the town centre. Return trains from Stratford-upon-Avon station run into the evening, with last trains leaving at 23:30 Monday to Saturday, and 20:36 on Sunday.


Chiltern Railways runs services from London Marylebone to Stratford on Avon. Journey times are as quick as 2 hours 10 minutes, with a change of trains required at Leamington Spa. Trains from Birmingham Moor Street to Stratford on Avon take 1 hour. This route is served by both Chiltern Railways and West Midlands Trains.

Our bus stops are all on Guild Street, Bridge Street, Wood Street and Windsor Street.

If you are planning a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon then Stratford Park and Ride is the ideal place to park, offering a 7-day a week bus service Monday to Sunday and more than 700 parking spaces available, including several EV charging points.



It also has a passenger terminal with seating, toilets available Monday to Saturday 7.30am to 12.30pm, and generous roof cover to protect visitors from the British weather. The toilets are not available outside of these hours.

To use the service you currently have to pay to use the car park, tickets cover use of the Park and Ride car park only and do not cover use of the Park and Ride bus service or nearby rail services.  To use the return park and ride bus service its currently  £2.50 for and adult, £1.50 a Child or £4.00 for 5 people.



Stratford Park and Ride bus service runs:
Mondays to Saturdays between 7.30am and 6.28pm.
Sundays between 10am and 6.55pm
Buses run every 15 minutes for most of the day* and the journey takes approximately 10-12 minutes. Passengers are dropped off outside of Natwest on Wood Street in the town centre, and picked up on the opposite side of the road outside the charity shop Cancer Research UK.


Please note when Wood Street or Bridge Street are closed, for example due to events taking place in the town centre, the Park and Ride buses will arrive and depart at Windsor Street Coach Park.


The service operates using low floor accessible buses, and well-behaved dogs are welcome aboard.



Sightseeing Open Air Buses


If you are looking for a slightly quicker way to see as much as Stratford-upon-Avon can offer, you can use one of the Sightseeing Open Air Buses.

These buses will take you through the sights, and on a sunny day in the open air you can soak up the atmosphere of the bards town.

Arriving in Stratford-upon-Avon by coach is straightforward and convenient. The town has dedicated coach drop-off and parking areas close to the centre, putting your group within walking distance of all the key attractions, shops, and restaurants, ensuring a efficient and comfortable visit.

Accessibility
We welcome visitors of all abilities with a thoughtful, inclusive approach to access. The town centre offers lots of blue badge parking spaces, both on-street and in council car parks.

If you need mobility assistance, the town’s dedicated ShopMobility service lets you borrow wheelchairs or hire scooters. You can even arrange for them to meet you at your hotel or the station. Accessible toilets are located in key areas and there are Changing Places facilities for additional support.
