About the business
The Queen’s Head is a family-run inn that captures the true essence of Stratford-upon-Avon’s hospitality. Downstairs, you’ll find a classic English pub – low wooden beams, a crackling fire in winter, and locals catching up over a pint of ale. Upstairs, we have a handful of comfortable guest rooms where travelers can rest after a day of exploring. Staying with us feels less like a hotel and more like being a welcomed guest in a local home. Each room is simply furnished, clean, and equipped with modern touches like free Wi-Fi and en-suite facilities, but maintains a quaint charm (accessed by a quirky old staircase, as many historic inns have). In the mornings, we cook up a hearty full English breakfast to set you up right – and yes, our eggs and bacon are sourced from nearby farms. Because we’re located on Ely Street in the town centre, you’re only a few minutes’ walk from Shakespeare’s Birthplace and the riverside. After sightseeing, you can join us and the Stratford locals in the pub for a relaxed evening – we often have live music or quiz nights that create a real community buzz. We pride ourselves on our personal service: the same folks pouring your pint probably made your breakfast and will happily chat about the town or help with your bags. The Queen’s Head has been a gathering place in Stratford for centuries, and we carry on that tradition by making every visitor feel part of our Stratford family.
